Louis Dousset

Our History

Welcome to the Montagne
de Reims, the cradle of the
Grand Cru Terroirs of Champagne, where our family has been rooted in Verzenay since 1844.

Since then, our domain has paid particular attention to the care of its vines, focusing on each plot and every vine. With respect

for the terroir and the plant,
our house balances traditional methods with modern technology to offer you Champagnes
of character.

Our Products

In 1844, Paul Dousset left his village
of Couvignon in Aube to settle in Verzenay, a Grand Cru Champagne village.

As a vineyard worker, he developed a distillation activity, which allowed his son Eugène, father of Louis Dousset, to invest in vineyard plots. In the 1980s, Louis Dousset devoted himself entirely to Champagne.

In 1998, Jean Roch Floquet, grandson of Louis Dousset,

took over the company, combining tradition with innovative vinification techniques. He continues tomanage the vineyard, aiming to highlight the terroirand guarantee the quality
of Louis Dousset Champagnes.

The Secret of the terroir

The Montagne de Reims vineyard is one of Champagne’s jewels, extending across prestigious villages like Verzenay, Mailly Champagne, Ambonnay, and Bouzy.

Renowned for its Pinot Noir, which thrives in this optimal environment, the region produces structured, powerful wines with remarkable aromatic complexity.

These characteristics make the Montagne de Reims a highly sought-after region for the production of prestigious cuvées.

The continental climate, with its oceanic influences, provides cold winters and mild summers that allow for the slow ripening of grapes, essential for preserving the acidity and balance of future wines.

The landscapes, a succession of terraced vineyards and forests, are also classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Our Wines

Time is our most precious ally, and the passion that drives us for Champagne allows Maison Louis Dousset to go beyond simple amateur tasting, earning a place at the tables of renowned restaurants and on the shelves of the most prestigious wine merchants. The simplicity of its vibrant essence, the complexity of its blends, and the energy of its dedicated team give Louis Dousse Champagnes a distinctive character with a unique style.
